Privacy Policy
This policy explains what The Ambition Department collects, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Effective date: October 23, 2026
The Ambition Department is a business operated by a sole proprietor in Texas, United States. This policy applies when you visit this website, submit a form, buy a product, join a Club or Challenge, order an SEO audit, comment on one of The Ambition Department’s Instagram, YouTube or TikTok posts, or send The Ambition Department a message on Instagram.
Information we collect
- Checkout information: details needed to process and support a purchase. Payment-card information is handled by the payment processor and is not stored directly by The Ambition Department.
- Club and Challenge information: the plan details, weekly check-ins, and revenue numbers you enter in your account, sales records you submit to verify a Challenge goal, and the shirt size and shipping address needed to send an earned shirt.
- Contact and intake information: your name, email address, website, business details, goals, and other information you choose to provide.
- Optional read-only access: information available through services you voluntarily connect for an audit.
- Social media comments and messages: public comments left on The Ambition Department’s own Instagram, YouTube and TikTok posts, and direct messages sent to The Ambition Department on Instagram, as explained in the next section.
- Basic website data: standard technical and analytics information about visits and site usage.
Comments and messages on social media
The Ambition Department uses an automation to read and answer public comments on its own Instagram, YouTube and TikTok posts, and direct messages sent to The Ambition Department’s Instagram account (@scrollysocial).
- What is collected: for comments, the comment text, your username or channel name, the comment and post IDs, a link to the comment, and the date it was posted. For Instagram direct messages and Story replies, the message text, your username, Instagram IDs, the time it was sent, and The Ambition Department’s replies.
- Why: to sort comments and messages (for example questions, requests and spam), to draft replies that The Ambition Department’s owner reads and approves before anything is sent, and to send a free resource on Instagram when you comment, message or reply to a Story with the keyword a post asks for. That resource is sent automatically, once per request. Every other reply is approved by The Ambition Department’s owner first.
- Freebies by email: for some freebies, The Ambition Department’s Instagram message includes a personal link to a signup page on The Ambition Department’s server. If you enter your email address there and tick the box, the page shows the freebie link right away, and if you sent The Ambition Department a message on Instagram in the last 24 hours, The Ambition Department also sends you the link there in one message. Your address is added to The Ambition Department’s email list at MailerLite for The Ambition Department’s emails (tips and offers). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. The Ambition Department’s server records your email address next to your Instagram conversation, along with the steps you reached (link sent, page opened, signed up, reminder sent). If you don’t sign up, The Ambition Department may send one reminder message on Instagram within 24 hours.
- Where it is stored: on The Ambition Department’s own server at DigitalOcean, which runs the automation with n8n. It keeps technical run logs for up to 14 days and the IDs of comments and messages already handled, so nothing is answered twice. TikTok comments are collected through Apify, and reply drafts are written with Claude by Anthropic.
- How long it is kept: YouTube comment information is deleted within 30 days of being collected. Instagram comments and messages and TikTok comments are kept only as long as they are needed for replying and following up, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time. An email address you give for a freebie stays on The Ambition Department’s email list until you unsubscribe or ask for it to be deleted.
- Who can see it: The Ambition Department’s owner, and the service providers above while they process it. This information is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build profiles.
YouTube API Services
The Ambition Department uses YouTube API Services to read comments on its YouTube channel and post approved replies. YouTube’s handling of your information is covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Only The Ambition Department’s own YouTube channel is connected to the automation. If you have given The Ambition Department access to a Google account, you can remove that access at any time on the Google security settings page. Questions or complaints about how The Ambition Department uses YouTube information can be sent through the form below.
How information is used
Information is used to deliver purchases, run your Club and Challenge tools, verify Challenge goals, ship earned shirts, prepare requested audits, respond to messages, maintain the website, prevent misuse, and improve The Ambition Department products and methods. Personal information is not sold.
Service providers
The Ambition Department may use service providers for checkout, forms, email delivery, website hosting, analytics, SEO research, and answering social media comments and messages. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention
General inquiries may be retained for up to 24 months after resolution. Audit intake information and completed reports may be retained for up to 24 months after delivery so order questions can be addressed. Transaction records may be kept longer when required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes. Information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer reasonably needed.
Your choices and deleting your data
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information through the form below. Some records may need to be retained when required by law or for legitimate transaction and dispute purposes.
To delete your social media comments and messages, or an email address you gave for a freebie: send a message through the form below, or email hello@scrollyseo.com, with the subject “Delete my social media data”. Include your username or channel name and the platform (Instagram, YouTube or TikTok). Your information is deleted from The Ambition Department’s records within 7 days, and you will get an email when it is done. This removes The Ambition Department’s copy only; to remove a comment itself, delete it on Instagram, YouTube or TikTok.
